Any time I can reuse something decorative in another room I get all giddy inside! I love to save money! Recently I upgraded my living room curtains and I wanted to find a use for the previous little fellas! So I came up with a curtain exchange and the old timers moved into the guest room! The only problem was the color was off! I was shocked since they were such a neutral beige color but it didn't change the fact that they were all wrong. So I played with a few ideas...adding ribbon trim or stitching on an accent fabric but it still seemed horrible for the space. Then it hit me! RIT DYE people! I know that sounds crazy...who knew one of the little bottles of dye from JoAnn's would be just what I needed to cure the boredom of beige..but it was. Rit offers over 500 color combinations and all of the color formula charts on how to make the colors are here. So I set out to try this little marvelous find and for $2.99 ( I used a coupon) I was able to change the entire look of the curtains and get a little bit longer use out of them! I pulled the color out of an accent pillow and was quite happy with how close it turned out. The only problem with doing this was all of the endless possibilities that came into my mind because of this discovery. Pillows, ribbon, crib sheets (which I must confess I already dyed grey to put in my sons crib) and even wash cloths are just some of the ideas I have been dreaming up! So here they are in all their glory hanging in their new room! Let me know what you think!
