The Greatest place on earth....

Helloooooooo Thursday, I am so glad to see you because that means your good friend Friday is not far behind ;.) I hope today finds all of you well, happy Cinco de Mayo, enjoy a margarita for me, will ya?! I went on a little shopping trip yesterday & I wanted to take you along with me.

Let me start out by saying I have received uber loads of emails and questions about a lot of different items in my crazy casa (for example, the horse painting in Oliver's nursery, the hutch in my dining room, & even the yellow mantel I have hanging on our black walls) since I was recently introduced to all of you wonderful Young House Love readers.I bought all of these items at a local Baltimore store called Trohv and I must confess that I am in love with them!!!! So I thought today I would introduce you to the other special someone in my life...the place that makes me weak in my design knees and I hope it inspires you to create like never before and to take a road trip to this fantastic store! I truly want to stalk their window displays as often as possible & I strive to create the feel of their store in my house. They mix the old with the new, the charming with the wacky & the one of a kind with the most humorous of items within those walls. So get ready, here we go....be glad you and your wallets were not really with me yesterday or we would all be broke ;.)

They always have the most interesting & innovative displays throughout the store...
How about those dreamy hot air balloons? Can we say future Olly's room DIY! I am also loving these pinwheels for a party table. These were displayed in their wedding section and what an awesome idea to put over a wedding gift table! Pure brilliancy! I'm telling you everywhere you turn there is some sort of inspiration and eye candy to look at.

Cascading umbrellas, a colander light fixture for the kitchen, recipe book pages as kitchen wallpaper, & comics folded into paper airplanes....um yes....sign me up! I also thought for those of you who wanted a horse painting for your house I thought you might like that bad boy above ;.) Doesn't he just look like his name would be lightening? And if that wasn't enough for you check this out...
Doesn't that bedding look yummy? And who wouldn't want a set of gorgeous earrings from Kflickstudio...feel free to click her link on the right side of the blog to visit her shop, you know you want to ;.) Lucky for us she sells online as well as at Trohv. She can make orders for your wedding party or family and friends and all of her pieces scream good quality and hard work...I speak from experience people, I am a total fan and I rock her jewelry every chance I get! Trohv is also amazeballs because they offer posh kids toys & some clothing at their store as well! It makes shopping there with the little man a lot easier on Mommy.....but if he gets fussy I have found their in store daycare section helpful as well...
Just kidding....hahahha! But yes, I definitely did that to him for a picture...poor kid! ;.) So there you have it folks. A little blog post introducing you to the crack cocaine of the decorating world here in Baltimore. They most recently opened up a new store in DC as well, the nations capitol never looked so good ;.) I truly will miss these folks and their creativity and inspiration more than anything when we head to Cali this summer. Here is a shout out to all my favorite peeps...Gary, Kohli, Carmen....thanks for taking our money over the past five years, for holding my kid when he was six days old, and for always coming to our parties hands filled with Trohv goodies ;.) You guys are the cream in my coffee and the sugar on my cookie!!!!

  2. I'm totally intrigued by those fuzzy balls hanging above the bedding in the group of photos with the paper airplanes and umbrellas. Any idea what they are or how you could DIY them yourself? I'm thinking maybe something like your yarn ball garland?

  4. Oh man, what a store! I did envy quite a few of the items I saw in your spread on YHL so it's nice to know the source. And Baltimore isn't THAT far from NYC so a little road trip might not be such a terrible idea...

  12. I love this store and have spent many hours wandering around there sighing wishing I could buy it all. And I had no idea they changed their name but it's probably for the best since I would mix it up w/ Red Canoe over on Harford Rd.

My husband and I went to the Charles Village junk hop and picked up some good finds. We live at 27th and St. Paul so walked on over. We talked to your hubby at your stand about your house because we were looking to buy. He said you guys were possibly putting it on the market and now it looks like you have. Too bad we bought a house last week haha! Anyway, good luck selling the house and moving out to Cali Cali!
