Building it layer by layer

Due to blogger being crazy yesterday, I wasn't able to share the living room's trial run with you all. I believe a freshly decorated room is like a new pair of shoes...you got to try them on for size, walk a little while & see if you can live with them long term. They are often an investment, needing to go with as many things as possible, and always hard to break in at first, so let me know what you think about the direction I am going ;.)

So what do u think so far? I haven't really gotten to play around with accessories or small finishing touches, or even a fun light for above the couch...but I felt like we were off to a good start. I love that I have a few items that cost me a little bit more than normal, like the rug & a few of the pillows, accompanied with my $4 Goodwill poof,  $12 table, & my inexpensive Craigslist bench that was a DIY.
I now have to stop working on this room for a while to tend to the other areas of the house...;. ) but until the next project we will just be horsin' around over here....can I get a yeehaw?

I also have been getting ready for 4th of July. Here a few of my holiday finds for this year ;.)

The napkins are from West Elm as well as Cost Plus...I luv how they are all different. The flag was a cheap on sale find at West Elm as well as the small appetizer plates. I am super excited they joined the family this year & they should put the right spark in our Fourth ;.) I will see you back here on Monday, til then enjoy your weekend!!!!

  8. You guys are so sweet! Thanks so much for the encouragement. I will Rock it ;.) Bethany the rug came from West Elm the color is called Surrel. I am not sure what it is made of but I could see it being outdoors, however I am not sure about the fading. If you hurry west elm has 20%off rugs right now ;.)
