*We had so much fun just hanging out & eating hamburger cupcakes ;.) Everyone that saw them thought they were real sliders....mission accomplished! They were so much fun to make. Here is a little mini DIY for those of you who may want to make them for your next BBQ. I made it up as I went so bare with me...
I made the "ketchup & mustard" icing by using my favorite cream cheese icing recipe and using food coloring. The lettuce is coconut that I dyed with green food coloring. I made the meat patty by cutting out a circle with a cookie cutter from brownies. (which I put in the freezer for ten minutes prior to make them harder and easier to work with) I made the bun by using a basic vanilla cupcake recipe, adding sesame seeds to the top, and slicing the top and bottom off of the cupcake to make the bun.I also put these in the freezer for ten minutes to make it easier to slice.
I spread the mustard on the bottom bun, then the brownie meat patty, topped off with some fresh lettuce, and finished with some ketchup and the top bun...yum yum!
It was such a fun concept that came to life in our kitchen but tasted totally fantastic to our tummies. It made us all very smiley... and I mean all of us..
OHHH and for those who wondered what we did with the leftovers...we stuck a skewer in them and sent them to the Hubs work....;. ) Happy Tuesday everyone...see ya tomorrow!
