Olly's reading nook...

As the little man is getting older we have had to adapt a few things here and there to his room. One of the most recent changes has been creating a reading nook. As bedtime becomes more special, the need for some major cuddle time with bottle & a book is very desirable (to all of us crazy kids). So when I gazed upon this charcoal colored beauty I knew I needed it. I scored it for $249 on sale from $500. It is more than I normally spend on furniture but with such sexy tufting & gorgeous curves and legs I needed it ...ummmI mean Oliver needed it ;.) Take a peak....wouldn't you want to read about the moon & stars and families of bears while sitting here? I would, but that's just how I roll...and since you guys are familiar with his yellow, grey, black, blue & white theme I thought it might be fun to see it all old school style....

Doesn't it make you want to grab a book & a blanket and curl right up in the chair for a while?....Ahhh yeah...especially with the windows open & the California 50 degree weather blowing through...sounds heavenly to this gal! It's also amazing because the color is forgiving to stains....hallelujah! This means its more kid friendly than most other chairs. And for those who miss some color here is another picture of the chair...

So now that I am loving this nook, I am not so much in love with the horse lamp's shade...so I will be working on that today. Wish me luck..tackling a horse can be challenging ;.)

  4. I just adore book nooks! I've been hunting for a spot to create on in my home for my girlies, just haven't quite picked out the perfect spot yet. Great score on the chair!

  6. I was browsing your blog, all your decorating is amazing! I fell in love with Olly's bedroom under you "Old Baltimore Digs". Where did you buy the giant horse painting from?

  7. Welcome to the blog, i am so glad you like his room. The painting actually came from a store in Baltimore called Trohv...however, I did see it at one time online for a little bit more money at Zgallerie. ;.) Hope this helps.
