I have been wanting to try a new spray paint from Krylon. It's called Krylon Glitter Blast spray & I won an entire case from Krylon when I entered these babies into a glitter contest (original shoe post here)
This is the dollar store party hat after I sprayed it with the glitter spray paint! Way to goooooo Krylon! I found this a very interesting product to work with. It sort of acted fickle when coming out of the can...however, the coverage is Ahhhmazing! Look at all that sparkle! Wowza's!
I then went digging in my favorite box! It is my Halloween craft box. It has everything...clay, stickers, feathers, sticks, skeletons etc... It gets brought out this time every year and is always well loved! I found some awesome ribbon & black feather boa and spiders & made a boy and a girl party hat! *Just have fun with this part...you can use anything spooky! Spider webs, crows, or even a happy Halloween sticker if you fancy.
I just simply hot glued it in a few spots around the rim of the hat (folding it as well) in order to create this crumpled look. For the girl hat I substituted the ribbon for a black feathery boa.
I loved how they turned out, but I figured some of you may not want a Halloween party hat...so I used the same items and created a fun treat holder. These would be so cute stuffed with baked goodies or wrapped pieces of candy. The could be used for a class party, to hold silverware at a Halloween dinner or passed out on all Hallows eve to the trick or treaters.
I just used the same party hat and added ribbon to the sides to hang it with and hot glued a fun spider on the front of the cone! I think they are so fun, super inexpensive, and your creativity can go wild! I hope I passed on a little Halloween magic today! I am off to the pumpkin patch with my own lil' pumpkin. I will see you back here Monday (don't forget to check the bonus post for today below)! Have a fabulous weekend!
