The great shopping hunt & DIY sneak peek

Did you guys see Cirque Du Soleil on the Oscars? It was amazing! I hope you all were cozy on the couch & glued to your TV last night like I was (I may or may have not have been snacking on some strawberry Pop Tarts). I thought so many of the speeches were quick and witty this year, just the way I like it.
I not only got my Oscar on this weekend, but I also worked hard on putting a plan together for my upcoming tween makeover room. I spent many hours perusing the Internet looking for inspiration & deals. This is what I discovered...stores are the biggest copy cats ever, and I looooovvvvveeee it. Seriously, I have never been so excited to price comparison shop. I am often asked how I can afford to decorate on a one income budget and this is how I get my 'shop' on. I find an inspiration piece for our home & I hunt and hunt until I find the best deal...(and even then I look for coupon codes). Here are a few examples & some great finds...

It's amazing how a little persistence can lead to finding the look for less. Does anyone else love finding a deal or is it just me? I feel like a mockaholic....

**And for those of you itching for a good DIY, get ready because your DIY meter will soon be off the charts! Here is a sneak peek of a project I am almost finished with and cannot wait to share with you.
Paint sticks anyone?

***Oh & please throw some vote love over at the BEST DIY BLOG Homies 2012 nominations. Alittleglassbox is nominated wooowhoooo! Have the best day ever!

  1. I'm obsessed with finding good deals - it's become a weird 'I refuse to pay fill price' hobby. Congrats on the nomination!! I registered just to give my vote to my fave home decor blog... YOU! *mwah*

  2. Hi Courtney, just popped over to cast my vote for you - can't believe you've all this in a year, huge kudos to you....

...looking forward to seeing what happens with the paint stick!

  3. I love those rugs!! I love a deal, I really do and I try my hardest to not buy anything 'full price' anymore. It eerks my nerves when I buy something full price and it goes on sale the next week so now I just wait and if its gone its gone and obviously it wasn't meant to be! And, my new rule is I won't buy anything for my house I'm not totally in love with. I give myself a time frame and if I find I can't get the product out of my head or I keep going back to it, I'll then get it.

I can't wait to see what your going to do with that pretty paint color!
