New Project & Pinspiration

Friday, February 17, 2012

What a week it's been. I unveiled my "secret project" on Ucreate, celebrated our one year Blogiversary and rocked out one lovely Valentine's day. Basically, when I look back this week has been a blur...a blissful blur. Now that all of those milestones of the year are behind me I am now focusing on a new project that I am so excited about I can't sleep at night. No exaggeration. I seriously find myself day dreaming of colors, patterns, furniture placement...I know it's a sickness....but is it awful that I don't want a cure for it?! haha. In April I will be traveling to the great ole' state of Texas to be making over a beautiful new room for my niece..shhhhh, it's a surprise. She is now a "tweenager" and her room needs a little spice....So I have lots of fun projects and DIY's I will be able to share with you all when it's over. For now, I am gathering "Pin"spiration and loving the fact that I can go crazy and bold because it's for a kiddo! I'm sure this just might earn me the title of coolest Aunt ever....and that is something I can totally live with. Here are few of my recent favorite pinterest images I am pulling some inspiration/ideas from...

All of these rooms scream texture, color, fun pattern, and an eclectic flair which is the direction I am headed. Is there really any other way to go when it comes to a tween"age" room? I really cannot wait to surprise her, complete the project, and share all of the fun with you guys. To see more of my favorite pinterest finds....follow me here. For now I am off to go sketch out some ideas and see what President day sales I can hit up and hopefully finalize a color scheme. April will be here before we know it. I hope you all have a great weekend! Drink a latte for me, would ya?!

I am very excited to see this project unfold as I have a tweenager on my hands as well. Her room is smaller than a tuna can & I've been having trouble coming up w/a design concept. Especially since we are renters & paint is a 'no-no.' Looking forward to see what ideas you have!
