A snazzy rack

Good morning from New Mexico! Due to the fact that I am gearing up to see a lot of brown dust and desert today during our drive, I thought it would be fun to show a very fun and bright colored project we recently did for Emily's room makeover.

Before we got our crazy hands on her digs she was sporting a nice shiny coat rack in the corner of her room as a closet....

but we just couldn't let that fly. We thought she deserved a closet fit for royalty. However, since building a closet would have taken time and resources we didn't really have, we thought about converting a standard armoire into her closet. So I found this baby on Craigslist. I was able to explain to the man selling it what we were doing for Emily and he was happy to let me purchase it for $225. WHAT A STEAL! Here is how the ole' gal looked before...

And as stunning as it looked before it was a little too grown up for our tween. So After a can of Behr's (Disney collection of paint) Pooh's kite....we ended up with this blazing beauty....quite boutique chic don't ya think?

I am getting so excited to share the whole room with you that I almost can't stand it. But Monday will be here before we all know it. As for now we are off to the Albuquerque aquarium and another day on the road.

Have an awesome Thursday!
xoxo

  3. Hi Courtney, discovered your blog via YHL. You're very talented and your niece's room is amazing! Can you share your surce for the gold paint (?) leaf (?) on the legs of the armoire and bench? Thanks so much! Also, where did you find the fun 3-D gold star on her desk?

  5. Thanks! The gold star was from pier 1 on clearance. The gold furniture is actually metallic spray paint made by Rustoleum. I hope this helps ;.)

  7. Shelby I went with a white with grey undertones & I'm sorry I dont know the specific name. The comforter was from Marshall's & they also had some like it at TJMaxx & Homegoods. I hope this helps & happy decorating. Enjoy your space ;.)
