Getting the picture

For those of you who might get tired of my family posts you may want to skip over today's awesomeness. I promise some upcoming DIY's but we have had so much family stuff going on over here lately and I just have to document them.

Let me start by saying one of the smartest things I have ever done was agree to let my Hubs spend money on buying us a camera before our son was born (a Canon T1i). Ever since picking it up two years ago and clicking my way through our days, I have finally gotten comfortable behind the lens (thousands of pictures later). I still have a lot to learn but I just love being able to capture our daily moments. Since I capture every milestone of the little man, I thought it might be neat to capture a portrait of the Hub's when he turned 30. So after his party the other night we grabbed the camera, left Olly with his Nini, and went snapping away around town for an hour. I'm really excited to have these to look back on and to be able to see where we lived in the background. This one is my absolute favorite.

We got lots of good shots especially after shooting a couple of 100 photos-true story. I also scored this amazing sweater from JCrew for anyone who may be wondering and I got it on sale, super score!

I made sure to capture all of his expressions, the beauty of our town, and his favorite hat. This is truly who he is at 30.

And for those of you who are wondering how to get these types of photos from your husband it may involve a few beers beforehand (for you not him) as well as an Oreo cookie dangling from a string above him as incentive haha. Just kidding. However, don't fret if your hubby may not seem as cooperative. Most pictures looked a little something like this...

Charming, right?! He's going to kill me for showing that one. He's just not one to take himself so seriously on camera and behave like a model, but I love him anyway.  Overall, it was a great experience. I'm really glad we did it and now I'm trying to figure out how I want to be captured for my 30th portrait shot. I'm thinking about getting a body double haha.

See you lovelies tomorrow

  1. Those are some great shots of your handsome hubby! You definitely need to do the same for your 30th. You've come a long way and look fabulous, momma--strike a pose and take those pictures!
