I couldn't weight {to share a July update}

I hope you all had a weekend that knocked your socks off! We were sad to say goodbye to my mom who visited all last week. After dropping her off at the airport we took a family hike and harassed some cows, enjoyed some homegrown apricots and worked on our August household budget-total ick.

This was the first weekend in a while that I got a preview of fall like weather and got excited about the coming months ahead. I'm dreaming of dark nail polish, cool winds, brown boots, pumpkin spice lattes, baked apples and Dexter coming back....I am so excited I could almost sprout a pumpkin. I was also really happy this weekend when I met another weight loss goal so I thought it was time to give you a July update as promised in June. I have now lost 20 pounds in the last 8 weeks. I am currently in size 12 jeans from a size 24. I'm too proud to be embarrassed by this. I am now a few steps closer to making my 30 by 30 goal in December. One of the most motivational blogs I have found (and she has amazing free workout videos that I do daily on youtube) is blogilates. Homegirl can make me sweat...she is simply awesome.

I have also been staying motivated by looking at where I have been & trying to remember where it is that I want to go. And when that starts to fizzle out I turn the Olympics on and stare at the gymnastic and volleyball girls. It works wonders.

The Hub's and I at Fisherman's wharf on our one year anniversary. November 2005

I have also discovered that I evidently hold onto sweatshirts for too long as seen above & I also couldn't wait to put this ole' friend on after the Hub's birthday bash on Thursday-which was when this picture was taken. Obviously the sweatshirt is not form fitting and a little big, but I like to be able to compare how it feels when I wear it now and how it felt then. I now am trying to lose another 25 pounds in the next 9 weeks so it's time to change the routine up a little to get me over this little plateau I am finding myself on. I like to take each plateau of no loss as time to reflect and be thankful, instead of obsessing and becoming discouraged. I just keep remembering to grow from the inside out, the rest will take care of itself.

Our roses this weekend in full bloom
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and I will update you amazing cheerleaders at the end of August. Who else can't believe August will be here on Wednesday?! How is time passing so quickly? Don't forget to enter the garnish giveaway by tomorrow night! There will be 2 winners!

xoxo

  2. Very Inspiring! I am still trying to lose after my 5th child, is there any particular diet or exercise routine you are doing? Or more of just an overall change to everything?

    Jess 5 kids?? You're my new HERO! I'm moving more, eating less in portions, and cutting extra sugar and "extra" carbs...not a lot of sandwiches, toast or pasta....;.) but I have kept a few in there & I do splurge every once in a while. Last week I had BBQ sandwich, potato salad, and s'more bars...yum ;.) Ohhh & I've been drinking a lot of meal replacement Protien shakes.

    You look amazing, Courtney!! Keep up the great work! You are making sustainable lifestyle changes, which are the best kind. Allowing yourself to splurge once in a while is key to not losing your mind. :) Bravo!
