Bringing Christmas Back {in our house}

You guys know what I was up to yesterday? Well, what I was up to after I changed out of my jammies and stopped day dreaming of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows? Oh yea, that happened... I started my Christmas decorating. I don't have much to reveal but I can give you a little sneak peek.

As most of you have already seen I went rustic and woodsy last year....

But this year I'm going for a simplistic approach with touches of silver and gold. Here are some pictures of the hutch (and no worries, the back panels are just temporarily moved...no stencil pattern is being hurt in the making of Christmas decor).

I busted out every deer I could find. Tried to pair up green and red books. Used my trusty duo of gold and silver spray paint to transform greenery into a fun sparkly garland which you know I love...I still have a ways to go and I'm counting down until we cut down our tree this upcoming weekend so the smells of Christmas can fill the house. I can't wait to show you more progress over the next few weeks. I feel like everyone else has their tree already up (according to my resource a.k.a. facebook)....am I the only one who doesn't? Feeling so behind and Douglas Fur inadequate.

See you lovelies tomorrow.

  1. Going for a similar vibe this year myself. Cannot get enough of beautiful pine boughs and simplistic Christmas greenery. Love the little details you've shared here!

  2. Everything looks good so far! Do not fret, we are not decorated at all. I keep hearing about the lack of decorations from the 3-year-old. It's not even December yet! We're building a tree this year, starting on Sunday...MAYBE I can unearth some other decorations then too.

  3. I keep seeing glittery deer everywhere. I want some but don't want to spend the $$ for it. May have to break down and get to Michael's for some cheapies I can gild myself! We too aren't putting up the tree until the weekend. First weekend in December is our rule although I had the hubs bring up all the decor bins already! Enjoy the season!
