A tree on the wall and there's no place like home....

What do you get after spending 7 hours in two airports, 6.5 hours on a plane, and 3 hours of riding in a car in one day?! One exhausted Mama. True story. This was my day yesterday trying to get from IL to Northern Cali. Total and pure chaos. I have never played the words "beam me up Scotty" in my head so many times. Or wished I could click my heels together like Dorthy. Just feeling so thankful to be home and hug my boy who showed up at the airport wearing doggy pajamas and a big smile on his face. I simply embraced the Christmas spirit & just went with it.

One fun project I completed while in IL was a wall Christmas tree for one certain bachelor who hadn't taken the time to spruce up his apartment with an Evergreen this season. The picture is not the best quality due to it being taken on my ipad, but you get the idea.

I found the fabric at Ikea and used decorative paper ornaments and lights to jazz the ole' gal up. This was the perfect no mess, no fuss tree that was easily transported in my suitcase. Have you guys ever opted for an unconventional Christmas tree? And did anyone else try to fly out yesterday and experience the delays I did?  Crazy stuff. I hope y'all are having a great week and getting ready for the arrival of Christmas and a jolly fat man next week. Wooo whoooo!

See you lovelies tomorrow.

  1. Geez! It sounded like you had a time yesterday, but your tree turned out great!

  2. Gorgeous tree! Thanks for sharing this Ikea fabric. I might have to keep some on hand, just in case we decide to get crafty one year. Thanks to my new tree allergies, this year was the first time we tried an alternative tree. We love the results!

  3. Ohhhhh Geesha I was super close to having a come to Jesus meeting yesterday with the airlines haha but it all worked out.

And yes grab some of the fabric up. It's so fun & festive I was thinking about getting some more to sew a duvet for the little man's toddler bed next Christmas ;.)

  4. I feel your pain, we got back from traveling to the UK from Australia to visit family, just a week ago. Imagine 18 hours on a plane with a 2 hour layover... Oh and with a 1 & 3 year old. Not fun! Nothing quite like being home :)
