I must say that the holidays seem to just fly by now that I'm an adult. As a kid it seemed like it took forever for Christmas to get here and now I'm just lucky if my Christmas cards don't become Happy New Year cards. With the fast pace of life and with the obligations I have for December, I'm terrified I will miss it all... All of the precious cookie making, light gazing, breathing in the smell of pine and candy cane-memories. So I try to fill up our weekly calendar with fun seasonal activities for us to do so that I embrace the magic of this time of year for my little Oliver. This weekend included one of our favorite holiday activities (and one event that I look forward to the most) the lighted boat parade. I love how the air is crisp, people are smiling while bundled in their warm coats. The lights on the boats dance across the water sending a twinkle cascading across the smooth surface. It is simply beautiful. The little man loved it this year.
On Saturday, Olly also discovered the wonder of a tricycle & after exploring it's special powers was hoping Santa was watching. He even seemed annoyed by being distracted from it's pure awesomeness when a certain photographer wanted him to pose for a photo.
I also worked like a little elf on some more DIY action for you. I cannot wait to share some more projects this week. For now I am ready to go watch an episode of Dexter and get myself to bed (because nothing screams Merry Christmas like a serial killer). I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and embraced your inner candy-cane eating, gift wrapping, tree decorating selves.
