A question I am asked a lot {Shabby Apple giveaway}

Hey y'all! Are you loving the giveaways this week? Before I get to today’s amazingly awesome giveaway I wanted to address a question that I have been asked a lot over the past two years on the ole blog, which is: Do I prefer owing a home to decorate versus renting a home? The answer to that question is a tough one because both owning and renting have their perks. I'd say that renting allows me to challenge my creativity in ways that owning doesn't, where as, owning gives me the ability to decorate with no limitations and to dream bigger.  Don’t get my wrong; I don’t think you need to own your home in order to have style (which I am hoping to show in my master bedroom redesign) but it definitely makes decorating it somewhat easier.
So I tend to give this advice to anyone who is renting and wishes they owned their own home and that is... to save your ideas for your future home (one reason Pinterest rocks my world). For example, I would love, love, love to re-do my current bathroom and make it a bit more relaxing and trendy. I am dying to replace my current vanity which feels more rustic with a more vintage vanity that resembles a piece of furniture like this one. But since I can’t, I simply save my design ideas in a notebook so when I do own again in the future I have my ideas to revert back to when dreaming up my space. So a beautiful bathroom vanity will have to wait just a while longer.
Until then, I will reminisce about the nights where I’d have an impulse painting party at midnight with a frozen mixed drink in hand and my favorite Pandora radio station turned up and simply enjoy the fact that renting allows me to take a breather from those “larger” projects. It also pushes me to create more of an impact without altering my space which can be quite rewarding.
So for those who have asked me that over the years I hope this helps you to not shy away from design because you are renting or to put it off until you own your own home. You can do some pretty cool projects while being a renter and a home owner.

Now let’s get to today’s exciting giveaway! Let me just say that Shabby Apple rocks my world!!! Their dresses make me swoon because they feel vintage and girly...two things I am seriously down with. There are two dresses in particular that have my heart skipping beats and my credit card dancing around in my hand ready to purchase. I am in love with a lil' striped beauty named whistlestop & a green little number that is so flowy and beautiful ...just perfect for St. Patrick's day.

Here is how to enter. Become a follower of ALGB & "like" Shabby apple on facebook in order to win. Head on over to their website (be prepared to drool & have the urge to spend $) & leave a comment on my blog as to your favorite dress and where you might wear it. One US resident will win the grand prize of a $50 gift card but EVERYONE can enjoy 10% off your purchase for the next month by using the coupon code alittleglassbox10off. A huge shout out to Shabby Apple for that! The contest will be closed midnight EST Saturday Feb. 23, 2013 and the winner will be announced Monday Feb. 25, 2013 on the blog. So head on over and lust after a sexy little black dress (you know you want too)

Don't forget there is still time to enter the other giveaways!!!!
