bedroom bench {want it for less}

I can't believe it's Wednesday already. I am super excited to show you the most recent completed project for the master bedroom. For months I've been on the hunt for the perfect upholstered bench (with natural wood exposed legs) for the end of my bed...the search always ends up in $...lots & lots of money. After getting frustrated I decided to get DIY fierce and make my own version. It not only helped to save money (thanks to Craigslist and coupons) but it also allowed me to customize it exactly how I wanted. Here was the feel I was going for...

               via 1. 2. 3.
And after stripping the paint off a previously painted bench (thanks to the Hubs)...and tufting it (this is an excellent tutorial)...this is what I ended up with.

I know some people may think I have lost my decorative marbles incorporating leopard into this room...but that's probably why I dare to do it and love it all at the same time. It has such a beautiful soft gold shimmer to it in person and these pictures just don't do it justice...it also looks a little worn and I am loving that about this fabric.

Not bad for nearly a seventh of the cost in store. What do you think? You loving my frisky bench? She definitely commands my attention in the space so I have to give her some mad respect.

I hope you have an awesome Wednesday.
