Sandal 911 {operation: restoration footwear}

Happy Monday to all of you sandal wearing peeps out there. I'm odd....I know. I spent the weekend trying to escape the clutches of a chocolate iced donut (short story: I failed). I worked out twice a day (to make up for said donut), I rode a train with the little man (who was all smiles and cho cho whistles) & I also spent my gorgeous Sunday afternoon outside (are you ready for this awesomeness)....Cleaning my sandals. Yep. I just wrote that for all of you lovelies to read.

Which I didn't even know could be done by the way. However, my feet are anticipating sandal-worthy weather during my upcoming trip in April and I cannot disappoint them. I busted out my old favorite glammed up pair of lace up sandals (that let's be honest...I paid wayyyyyy to much $ for). However, they needed quite a cleaning. I researched a little online and found out that using carpet and upholstery cleaner along with a toothbrush and wet sponge could do the trick. And I must say....I am now a believer that your favorite sandals can be saved! Check out the before and after....

How to source
I was quite impressed with their makeover and I felt like they were new again. It saved the hubs big bucks for replacements & it saved me from having to break in a new pair.

Now I just can't wait for my trip and warmer weather to pair them with a cute clutch, maxi dress, and wrist layered with bangles. Can you say someone has been "pinteresting" summer fashion already? Yep. guilty.

So tell me what are some of your favorite tips to restore your favorite clothing? I am ready for a new dirt busting challenge- so bring it.

See you lovelies tomorrow with some headboard happenings.

  5. Thanks guys! I was so excited to be able to save these beauties. Stephanie I originally bought them at Nordstroms 3 or 4 years ago. The brand is Mezza I believe?
