Flags & Garlands: Fourth of July Deccorations

Happy Tuesday to all of you.  I know it's pretty obvious that this ole gal got a little makeover yesterday and now she is ready to strut her stuff. I still have a bit of work to finish on the new pages, however, I couldn't wait to show you the new layout that has been months in the making (thanks to the design genius Kelly). I love the fresh start a new style & reorganization can bring. It inspires me to try and produce the best content I can and to have fun while doing it.
As for today, I wanted to share some decorations I made over the weekend for our upcoming 4th of July party. Y'all know me...I try and make it simple with things I already have around the house. So this is what I came up with: A festive paper garland made from simple scrapbook paper & twine. And flags made from ordinary grocery bags & spray paint. They're not as beautiful as Old Glory herself, but they are perfect for an outdoor party.

You're probably wondering why I crumpled the flags...I felt like it made them more sturdy when attached to the skewers and gave the illusion of being blown in the wind. I can't wait to see how they end up looking when I use them as part of our red, white, & blue table (one that will be sure to set off fireworks it's going to look so festive).
I hope you all have an awesome day & have fun creating your own flags & garlands. Let me know what you think about the new layout. I am dying to know.

  4. Beautiful new layout, there is nothing like a fresh start! I love that you went with a vintage feel for your decorations, and that you used such simple, inexpensive materials. You have inspired me to try washi tape! I hope you have a great 4th with your family :)
