Cheerful Holiday Cars: Submitting to the Holiday bug

Well folks, I did it. I busted out my holiday spirit this weekend & got down and dirty with some miniature Christmas trees & toy cars. I said I wasn't going to do it. I promised myself I would wait until turkey day was over... but I gave in to the idea after eating a candy cane Oreo (I was a goner) & saw a Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel (that gets me every time). By the way, if you haven't tried a candy cane Oreo, consider yourself saved from the tantalizing and addicting grip of  crack cocaine delicious chocolate and peppermint yuminess. "Hi, my name's Courtney & I'm an Oreo-holic."  I digress.

...Now I am still refusing to bust out all of my Christmas decorations (just out of respect for the bird, Charlie Brown) but who can resist the little nudge in the Christmas decor direction? Obviously this gal can't.

I simply primed & sprayed this little car and tied a fun miniature tree to the top which I got from the local craft sore. I have seen these little cars at Homegoods as well as Marshalls for those of you who also want to get your cheerful holiday car on.

The little truck I found at Homegoods as well, and tweaked it a little bit. I added a Sign and removed some things from the back-end to make room for the tree it needed to haul home.

Are you dying from car cuteness overload yet? I adore the ideas of these little buddies kickin' it on the mantel. Sign me up for that! And after Christmas they may end up in Oliver's room for decoration. Which means less for me to store for next year and more bang for my buck. Double score!

So what Holiday projects have you already started to tackle? Maybe it's because of the cold temperatures this year, or how late Thanksgiving seems to be, but I have been bitten by the holiday bug & I'm feeling it.

Have a great start to your week lovelies.

  1. Really Cute... My husband loves old trucks, and I think he would really like this type of holiday decor. I am sure my two little boys would also be fascinated. Thanks for the idea!
