Well y'all...the short countdown til turkey day is on! I am already anticipating a food induced coma with a side of overstuffed-itis. True story.
Every Thanksgiving I spend the day running around cooking til my feet want to fall off, dividing my time between two other important tasks...watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade (what can I say, I am a sucker for fake snow, tight tights, and lip synching) as well as taking a few "inbetweener" naps....you know, the naps in-between all other tummy stuffing activities. There are also a few small interludes of watching Elf & A Christmas Story. "You'll shoot your eye out kids"... Ahhh yes. This holiday rocks my turkey lovin' socks off and makes me so grateful for my family, my friends, my job, all of you.
So even though I have been busting out some major gym time with the anticipation of said holiday, I definitely plan on indulging. One of my favorite things is pecan pie. Seriously y'all....it's slap yo' mama good! Yummy pecans covered in sugar and fat....yep, this gal is all over it. So while I take a moment to resist picking up a fork and digging into a pie currently, take a moment to peek at this deliciously stunning piece of Turkey day eye candy.
It is pecan pie brought to a new level and somewhat as addicting as crack. It's Maple, bourbon pecan pie...(Oh Martha you make me weak in the knees for flaky crust & totally get my pie swoon on.)
Doesn't that make your mouth water? Holy pie crust it makes me hungry. What are your favorite holiday pies? Any fun way to jazz up a normal pumpkin pie?? I heard a good trick is to use sweet almond milk. Yum!
